What to Expect at Your Hearing Evaluation

Before coming in for a hearing evaluation at the Hearing Place of Birmingham, you should spend a few minutes reflecting on your hearing and how it affects your life. What situations (restaurant, phone, etc.) do you find yourself struggling to hear the conversation? Do your family members get frustrated with you because you misunderstand or don't hear them speak? Do they tell you that you listen to the TV too loudly?

When you arrive at the appointment, your skilled audiologist will ask you questions like this, as well as questions about your health history. Our goal is to have a better understanding of your personal hearing needs. We will also conduct a thorough hearing evaluation, during which we may include a listening experience with various hearing devices. Once we have a full understanding of your needs, we will discuss a plan of moving forward with treatment.
