What is a Hearing Screening?
A hearing screening uses pure-tone testing, a test that checks the ability to hear high and low frequencies in both ears by wearing headphones. The patient usually raises a hand or signals when and which ear hears a sound. This test checks for hearing loss in both ears. The results are recorded in an audiogram. What is an Audiologic (Hearing) Evaluation?
An audiologic hearing evaluation is performed on your first visit to our Hearing Center to diagnose possible hearing loss. An audiologist will check your ears and perform a series of tests that will determine whether you are experiencing any hearing loss, the degree of hearing loss and what treatments are available.
